Bosch Group in Russia and CIS appoints new management. Rene Schlegel to hand over responsibilities as of November 30  

As of December 1, 2011 Gerhard Pfeifer is the new representative of Bosch Group in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia and Caucasus taking over all the positions held by Rene Schlegel.

Moscow – After 13 years in the region Rene Schlegel, Bosch Group representative in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia and Caucasus will hand over his position to Gerhard Pfeifer and continue his commitment to the company by representing the Bosch Group in Mexico.

 

Rene Schlegel joined the company in 1986 and worked in the CIS since 1998. Consecutively as General Manager (GM) of Robert Bosch in Ukraine, GM of Robert Bosch in Russia and Belarus, chairman of the board of OOO Robert Bosch in Russia and simultaneously GM of Robert Bosch in Ukraine and Belarus.

 

In 2008, he was appointed the Bosch Group representative in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan including responsibilities for the Caucasus and Central Asia.

 

Since 2011, he has been chairman of the supervisory board of OOO Robert Bosch (Moscow), TOO Robert Bosch (Almaty), CEO of IP Robert Bosch (Minsk), OOO Robert Bosch Ltd (Kiev) and Robert Bosch Ltd (Tbilisi).

 

Rene Schlegel summarized his time in the region: “I spent more than a decade in the countries of the former Soviet Union. It turned out to be lands of vast opportunities for both Bosch and me personally.”

 

He is confident that his 3000 colleagues here will continue to successfully shape the future of the company in the region together with it’s customers and business partners. On a personal note “I guess a part of me is now Slavic, and I will carry this with me wherever I go, both professionally and personally” concluded Rene Schlegel wishing his successor a good start in his new role.

As of December 1, 2011 Gerhard Pfeifer is the new representative of Bosch Group in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia and Caucasus taking over all the positions held by Rene Schlegel. Gerhard Pfeifer sees big potential for future development in the region.

 

“I am very much honoured to continue the good work of recent years,” he added following his appointment in the new role. He explained the attractiveness of the market : “The foundation for a promising business development here is the massive territory, with its rich natural resources, the skills and know-how in research facilities, technological development, and cultural diversity amongst others”.

 

Gerhard Pfeifer has worked for Bosch Group for over 20 years, from 1989. Since 2003, he served as Executive Vice President of international sales and marketing for pneumatic equipment by Bosch Rexroth AG, as well as Member of the Management board of Bosch Rexroth Pneumatics (Laatzen), supervisory board member of Bosch Rexroth Hungaria Kft (Budapest) and Representative Director of Mecman Japan Ltd (Tokyo).

 

Gerhard Pfeifer is a member of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) (Frankfurt am Main), the Committee for Foreign Economic Affairs of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK – Hanover) and the Niedersachsen-Metall business association.

 

Born in 1960 in Sinn, Germany, Gerhard Pfeifer graduated from Darmstadt University of Technology as an engineer-economist with a specialization in marketing of means of production and mechatronics.
